Tonight I was privileged to shoot an open house/reception for a beautiful couple. I've known Christina for a while and just met Scott on Thursday, but oh my gosh these two were made for each other. They clearly have such a connection and just really love to be around each other. This post is just a teaser, I promise a much larger post of this wedding to come soon, but for now enjoy this picture. Kinda makes me want to get married again. (let me clarify that I want to marry the same man that I am married to currently..... not someone else.) But I am sure you knew that already.

Sweet Baby Levi

Over the past few years I have gotten the chance to photograph this family a bunch of times. They are moving across the country to Utah soon, but before they do we were able to sneak in a newborn photo shoot. Abby has a little brother now! Baby Levi! And what a cutie he is. The Birthday Girl!

I am going to be honest people. I haven't been online in over a week. Mainly due to our internet not working, but also because I have just been spending time with my boys. We've been playing in the pool, reading, playing starwars, planting flowers in the yard and just enjoying each other. So, while I haven't been online very much in the month of July, I promise I am still here. And to be honest again, it's been kinda nice. :)

Just don't think that I haven't gotten my camera out lately. This little beauty is my niece, Aria. She was born 8 days before Caden. They are the best of buddies. Besides the fact that Caden is enthralled with her and wants nothing more than to pull her hair. :) But I digress. Aria is such a doll of a baby. Happy Birthday little Miss. I sure do love you!!!

Cardwell Family Preview

A year ago I asked Niki Cardwell of Stella Dolce Photography to photograph my birth. She came, shot the pictures, and now I have those memories to hold on to forever. It's a year later, but I have to give a huge shout out to Niki for taking those pictures for me. And in turn I was able to shoot her adorable family. Summer Reading

My goal this summer is to post more on what we are doing as a family. Sometimes I wish I had more hours in the day. I know we all feel that way. :) But I really want to share this with you. My son Jackson spending some good reading time. I've signed the boys up at the local library for a reading program this summer. I believe they have to have 10 hours of reading complete by the 16th of July. It's coming up and I am hounding my boys to be responsible and complete all 10 hours on time. So just about every day we have some good reading time. I am so proud of my boys. They might be slightly motivated by the prize they'll get in the end (who knows what it'll be...) but hey, motivation is motivation. :) If our Nashville sun ever comes back out i'll take some back yard pool pics and share them. Oh I love my boys. Happy Summer!

Baby Jackson Preview

I am feeling so very blessed today. Life is going great. The sun came out today, birds were chirping, children were singing in church, daddy's all over were being celebrated. This week is busy for my family. Then we get to go camping with all of my husband's family. My boys are so excited about camping and boating and playing with their cousins. But I digress. The theme of today is fathers. To my dad, my dad-in-law, my husband, my best friend's dad (who I definitely consider one of my dads :), and all the dad's out there, I honor you. Being a parent is one of the hardest and thankless jobs you can commit yourself to. But we thank you nonetheless. You are so appreciated.

This leads me into little baby Jackson's preview. Jackson is the first baby to new parents Anna and Brandon. And what a cutie he is! Jackson (who has the most fabulous name if you ask me!) is such a good baby. He didn't want to sleep, so he just kinda hung out and went a long for the ride. Mary Dawn Preview

This beautiful woman is Mary Dawn. Mary Dawn has been a friend of mine since I worked for a dental office here in Nashville. I think it's been about 2 years since I've worked there. My how time flies, but I just LOVE the people there and am so glad I've kept up with some of them. Mary Dawn has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and will start chemotherapy very soon. We've been talking about doing her pictures since I worked at the office but we just never made it a priority. I am so glad I could come spend the morning with you Mary Dawn. You are such a light in my life and I just appreciate all your positivity. Life is too short to take it for granted. You are a beautiful and caring woman and I am so glad to know you. Sweet Baby Kennedy

I had the honor to be there immediately after baby Kennedy's birth. I felt so overjoyed at the spirit in the air. Kennedy you are so beautiful, Kaleb you were such a happy, excited new dad, and Keena, you are superwoman!! I am so happy for your family! Enjoy your preview.

These pictures melt my heart. Notice Kaleb's holding his daughter's hand. I didn't even notice it at the time when I shot the picture but oh how sweet.

Look at the love here. I love these photos!! Keena's first time holding her daughter. Is any one else's womb hurting? No? Just mine? :) I am reminding myself that my son isn't even a whole year old yet.

These two cats moved to Nashville in August this past year for lawschool. And now Mr. Brandon is done with his first year and they are about to be parents. Oh how time flies! I am just so excited for them!! In Honor of Mother's Day

In honor of Mother's Day, I wanted to share some photos I took at a baby shower I attended recently. I have quite a few friends who are about to be mothers in the next month. Some first time mothers, some it's their 4th time around, but it's all very exciting and each deserve ample amounts of appreciation for what they are about to do.... Birth is probably the very hardest thing I have ever done. It was painful, trying, sweaty, and just down right difficult. But even with all that pain, giving birth was the very best thing I have ever done. The most selfless thing I have probably done, (although at the time it probably didn't feel selfless because I just wanted that baby out!) :) On top of everything else, giving birth to that perfect little person leads you into motherhood. And motherhood is what we are celebrating today. Honoring the mother's who have shown us all the way. I applaud you all for your sleepless nights, for your feedings around the clock, for your chauffeuring to and from school or dance or soccer practice. There are no road maps in motherhood, but as far as I am concerned the world is still a wonderful place to be. 'All that I am, or hope to be, I owe to my angel mother.' - Abraham Lincoln

Recently I was asked to do a mini session with miss Emma who had just been baptized. Isn't she so beautiful?! She just has such a sweet spirit. Spring Mini-Sessions Part Two

This last picture is for Brexton's parents who tell me he is quite the 'mover and groover' type. He loves to get up and go. It works out nicely for pictures though. :)

I am sure you all remember Miss Abigail. She refused to give us a smile yesterday.... well, refused up until the very end of the shoot when I caught one. Ha! I caught it. :) Thanks Abby for being a trooper. I promise some day you'll like me.

She's going to be a big sister in July!!

Spring Mini-Sessions and other business stuff

Brace yourselves people. This is going to be a business post. Full of information and NO pictures. So if you're still reading, thank you! lol. I know I have been saying for a (very) long time that I am working on an actual website. And I am. I promise. :) But having a baby, not to mention 2 other boys, has kept me pretty darn busy this past year, and things like websites have fallen by the way side. But don't lose faith in me. It's coming...

A couple of items of business, I am right now scheduling shoots for spring and summer. If you know you want to book, do it fast so I can make sure to get you in the schedule. It's going fast. For the remainder of 2011, shoots will be $100. This includes an hour to an hour and a half of custom photography and 25-40 edited images on a high resolution disk.

Last year, we had great success with the Easter mini-shoots. I am going to offer Easter/Spring mini sessions again this year. The date will be Saturday, April 9th. I will take 3-5 sessions for that date. If those fill up and I have 3 or more people interested, I plan to schedule another date. Location for these mini-sessions is still being determined, but probably be somewhere in Belle Meade area. Please contact me if you are interested, for more specifics and for times. We will not be using a bunny again this year. If I can get my hands on a chick, we'll do that. Otherwise, we can still use Easter-ish props if you like. Or you can plan on the session to just be 'springy'. Again, contact me if you are interested. The cost will be $35 for 25 minutes of custom photography of up to 3 people, and up to 10 edited images on a disk. This will be the last time I can offer these mini-shoots for this price.

I have had a few people ask about photographing babies and pregnant bellies.... If you are pregnant or know someone who is and would like to get maternity and newborn shots done I would like to run a special. A "Mommy and Me" package consisting of two full shoots, bellies and babies..., for $165. It's a savings of 35 bucks. So take advantage of this deal.

And lastly, I would like to say thank you so much to my awesome clients. Your beautiful faces, smiles, children, animals, laughter, is truly the reason I do this and the reason I LOVE to do this. Thank you so much!!

Jackson Turns 4!

So I have decided that I am going to start sharing more personal blog posts with y'all. I will hopefully be posting more often and keeping this blog up to date. :) Today my little man turned 4 years old. I can't believe it's already been 4 years. Time sure does fly when you are having fun (and cleaning, and teaching, and scrubbing, and playing, and yelling) (not that I ever yell of course....) Here are some pictures from our day with Jackson.

He is such a ham... I think he really enjoyed the special attention he got today. In our family we try to make sure the person who's birthday it is feels super special all day, starting with streamers and presents in the morning, to ending with what ever they want for dinner and what they want to do in the evening.

My sweet neighbor and friend, Michele, came with us out to lunch today. Jackson loves Michele. It just wouldn't be his day if she didn't come along.

This little guy came along too. What a looker he is!! He looks so stunned to be a part of today's festivities.

On a last minute whim, daddy was able to sneak away from the office to spend lunch with us too. Jackson was so happy that he got just a little extra daddy time today. Lately we haven't seen daddy all too often, so it is so great when we can make these moments count.

Look who spent his first meal in a 'restaurant' high chair. He loved sitting like such a big boy and eating with us. What a cutie! But I am partial.

Then we took Jackson to CiCi's Cupcakes to pick out his very own cupcake. He was so excited. I wish I had gotten a picture of the cupcake. It was pink. I do love how my sweet little man loves his pink. :)

Then we came home and played his new Indiana Jones Lego game on the PS3. We are very blessed to have Mr. J in our family. I couldn't have asked for a better kid!

College Roommates - 10 years later

My sister in law Jessie had the chance this week to spend time with her old college roommate Tiffany. The two of them haven't been in the same state for close to ten years (I believe)... but for them it's like time hasn't passed. I loved seeing Jessie's happy face as she got to spend time with someone who knew her way back when. I know the feeling, all too well, of loving that precious time with a friend who lives far away...

Aren't they cute?! I want to jump in there and have a good time right along with them.

I was so flattered when Jess asked me to take some pictures of them... I wish it hadn't been so cold for these poor kids, but man are they cute!!

Little Baby Belly

This pregnant belly belongs to my sister Ashley. I know I post more pictures of them than I do of my own children, but truthfully, that's because I probably take more pictures of them than I do of my own children. I swear that when I get the camera out for my kids they scream and run away. Or put up such a fuss it's simply impossible to get some good shots of them. I know it won't always be like that, so for now, here's my sister and her husband Brian and their adorable little man, Crew.

I'll end with this one. And I just have to say that I shot these pictures with my own 3 month old child in the bjorn (snuggly) and that he cried for about half the time. It was awesome. No, actually it was not. But I guess it proves that sometimes in life, to quote one of my favorite comedians, you just gotta 'get er done'.

Love these people and their soon to be daughter, Briley. I can't wait to meet her!

Back in the Game

Wow. 3 months went by so quickly. So much has been going on and I will update you on another post, but for now, I want to tell you that i'm back. No, I want to shout that I am back! It feels so great to be shooting pictures again and getting back in the game. Last night I had my first photo shoot since welcoming our third son, Caden, into the world. And let me tell you it was great! This beautiful lady is Marissa who will be graduating from HS this year. Isn't she gorgeous?! I feel so lucky to have this opportunity to take Marissa's senior pictures. Here's a teaser picture as I finish up editing her shoot. I can't wait to share more pictures of her. Marissa you were so much fun to take pictures of and such a natural. Thank you so much!

Recently, I was contacted by Devrie, owner of My-Lovie boutique style children's clothes who needed pictures for her website. Devrie mostly sells her items online and oh my goodness they are seriously the cutest stuff! Check out her website to see more: my-lovie.blogspot.com

Ok, here's where I was really impressed. She makes these soft shoes for girls who are learning to walk (or of course for those who know how to walk already). I am sure she could make these in any color. I shot 5 of these shoes, but here are two.

Where have I been?

Well, I've been making this little guy. Of course he's not finished cooking, but he will be in about 3 weeks or so. I know I haven't hit the very end yet because I don't feel the need to nest. In fact, I have been quite lazy. Well, not lazy, but interested more in taking my boys to the pool than posting blogs. Needless to say, I do have some pictures to share before baby Caden makes his way.... Thanks for holding out for me. I promise I'll be here more often very soon.

Oh, there he is! This was taken back in March so he's grown a lot more. Kinda weighing me down. But in a good way. He is such a great baby already and I can't wait to meet him, snuggle him, and of course take pictures of him. Behind the picture is his baby book. Just something else that has kept my attention the past two months.

Here's a pillow slip cover I made last month. I felt so crafty! It will go in the rocking chair in Caden's room.

Another piece of fun that will go into Caden's room. A girlfriend of mine made it. I love it.

I'm all ready to go with my Kiddie-Col. This stuff is the bomb-diggity! Check out Dr. Christopher's web site for more info if you're curious.

Another thing taking up all kinds of time is organizing all these super cute clothes. We are so blessed to have everything we need for the baby, including this little number. Which if you ask me, is absolutely a need. :)

Beautiful Mommyhood

While in Arizona, my sister introduced me to a friend of hers and we were able to get together for a shoot. Doesn't Chesney make the most beautiful pregnant mama?! I barely know her but I am so super excited for her to be a mommy to little Brody who will make his appearance in the coming month. Congrats Chesney and Josh! Pacific Ocean Views

Yesterday, my sister, her husband and little man and I went to see the tide pools in San Diego. Although I was disappointed because I didn't see any big orange starfish like I had my heart set on seeing, we did see a lot of beauty. I love the pacific ocean. It has so much to offer with it's wildlife, rocks, shells, sea weed and so many other beautiful sights.

These rocks are my favorite. I love all the colors!

I don't even know what this is called. Maybe some kind of small muscles, or some shells all stuck together. I'm not sure. :) But I like the look of it.

Look at that bird. He was posed and ready for his picture to be taken. This is what it looked like up and down the peninsula where we went. Gorgeous.

Who doesn't love to see some wild sea grass? :)

Isn't this cool? The water would just come right in and splash up between these rocks.

And now I have a few things I am super excited about sharing. First of all, this is my 100th post on christinacolephotography. I have been counting down the past few so I could remember which one is the 100th. And because I love all my clients. And I love my friends and family. Lily Bunny First Sessions

Yesterday was such a blast!! I started off the shoots with these beauties. Aren't they precious?! Madison and Jenna were so good with the bunny! They loved spending time holding her and letting her eat their dresses... Sorry Madison! :) I guess she didn't eat them, but she sure tried to nibble them a bit. Thanks for spending a little time with us yesterday, it was a great time! Hope you enjoy your preview!

This is little Marley. You've seen her before here. She is such a doll! Don't you just love this picture?! I am pretty sure we didn't mean to pose her quite so well, and all the while have Lily bunny be trying to jump away, but it worked out so well here! Thanks for bringing her by for the mini-session! Hope Marley had as much fun as I did!

This is Porter. Look at those eyes! What a doll. Ahem, I mean, he's quite handsome! My almost 5 year old son would die knowing I called another boy a doll. :) I have to be political here. He loved Lily as well, and we had so much fun! At one point in this shoot I was in the zone and layed down on the grass. Opps, can't lay down on my baby belly anymore. Ouch! :)

I went ahead and saved this for last. Isn't this just so super cute?! Little Emmett loved Lily bunny. He didn't quite know how to be soft with her, but she held her own in her basket. :)

I have a few more mini-sessions with the bunny this week and this next weekend, so if you are interested in having your child's picture taken, email or call me!! This has already been so much fun that I might have to make it a yearly tradition. Now if I can get my husband to let me keep the bunny. :) Miracles happen right?!

I am really excited to announce Christina Cole Photography's first mini-session photo shoot. This mini photo session will consist of a 20 minute shoot with 5-10 of the best images edited and burned to a high resolution CD, for only $35. I am holding 5 mini sessions on Saturday, March 27th and Saturday April 3rd. First come, first served. But the best part is I got a bunny for the occasion! No more taking your kids to the mall to see the Easter Bunny! He's here! Please email or call me for more information and to book your time slot starting at 2pm, and every half an hour till 5pm. I took these pictures for my brother and sister in law back in probably October/November. And I figured since they were family I didn't have to hurry and get them up on the blog. I really love the way they came out though and wanted to share. Aren't they a beautiful family?! Mandy is expecting another little girl in July! Can't wait to get some great family shots once the little one arrives. Congrats again guys!

There really were so many great shots of this adorable couple that it was hard to narrow it down to what is an ok amount in the 'blogger' world. :) With that said, I will be doing another segment, maybe even two more in order to really show the events of their birth.

Last week I took my almost 5 year old son, Cole, to the circus. We had a great time! I had told myself that I would live in the moment and not take too many pictures and not stress out about it, and I didn't. Take too many pictures that is. We went early to the pre-show and got to see some aerialists up close. I took on picture on auto (with the flash). Yikes! I knew it wasn't going to be good. This is what I got:

Not the best. So then as we stood there I quickly changed over to manual and gave it a try:

Much better! I do wish that I would have had more time (and closer seats!) to play with the spot lighting in that arena, but Cole and I had a great time and I did learn a quick lighting lesson. Stay tuned for pictures from a baby's birth that is happening TODAY! I can't wait to try my hand at birth photography. This is something I have been wanting to try, to capture those tender moments, those tiny hands and feet, to witness the miracle of life at a distance, and to give the family a rememberance of those first minutes with their sweet child.

The 'B' Family

Hi ya'll. I am starting to feel better. More like myself, and not like some lazy person who occupies the couch throughout most of the day. :) And with that said, I could have posted these pictures a while back, but I guess I was saving them for, well, now! These guys are some of our greatest friends in Nashville. In fact when I first got my camera, Amanda was one of the few people I called and begged to let me come over and take pictures of her and her baby. hehe. She's a good sport. I love how these turned out. This is their house and land, and I thought it was cool that they wanted pictures on their property. Enjoy!

I think this one is my favorite! I love it so much I am debating framing it and hanging it up on my wall... so people will ask, 'who's kids are those?' Ok, maybe that would be silly, but aren't they so super cute?! Amanda's a scrapbooker. A good one. So I am sure she will do something awesome with this one!

My Baby

So I finally broke down and got my almost 3 year old's hair cut last week. Poor thing was SO adorable, but could barely see out of all his hair, so it was finally time. I had to share these pictures taken in the car right after his awesome first hair cut experience. Jackson was a trooper! He didn't fight it at all and his hair turned out so handsome I had to share. This is exactly what it is like to take pictures of my precious boy. He gives me a different face just about each frame. Gotta love that boy!

The 'F' Family!

I hope everyone's Christmas was magical. Ours sure was. We got to spend time at home, with family and with good food. :) What more can you ask for right?! This is my second time shooting this family. They are so much fun to hang out with and are always up for anything. Little Abby is such a cutie isn't she?!

Now, this is my favorite picture from the day. I just think it is hilarious!! All the parents wanted was a good family shot for Christmas cards, and Abby was not having it. Doesn't it make you want to sing Christmas carols? Ahhh, it reminds me of my children every day! haha.

This is General. Jackie loves her doggie! Well who wouldn't?! He was so much fun! A bit of a stinker at times, but so so cute! (and just for reference Jackie, my old dog Hollywood would have been an even bigger stinker. hehe) This shoot was so fun because not only did Jackie bring her cute dog, she brought her cute sister and her cute niece. I got a mix of different shots with all involved and wish I could share them all. I love them!

I stared and stared at these pictures trying to figure out which should go first. This one won. I love how all these turned out for them. Luck had to be on my side with how great these two were in front of the camera, how nice the weather and light was, and the fact that we went to two fabulous locations. She's going to graduate!

...well not till the spring. But still. I remember being a senior in HS and being so excited that you were going to get out of HS and get into the great big world. Shhhhh... don't tell anyone, but sometimes I wouldn't mind going back for a bit. I liked high school. I loved my friends. And the memories I made will always be priceless to me.

But this isn't about me. (darn it!) This is about my friend Jessica who is going into the great big world soon. Congrats to you! You are a gorgeous girl inside and out. I can't wait to see who you become... :)

As I have previously mentioned, this girl is fabulous!! Not only is she beautiful, but she can sing and play the guitar! She rocks! We shot these pictures at her high school and around the town by her house. I love so many of them.

Look at those eyes! And that skin! I really didn't doctor up her features at all. Just a tad of brightening is all!

Gotta love this truck! It is so vintage and it totally fits who Jess is. And it was in the right place at the right time. Oh the magic I feel in my heart. :)

Ok, about this cat. I sat Jess down here because the light was great etc, and this cat WOULD NOT leave us alone. I have SO many pictures with the darn cat in it. Her tail, her paw, it was like she knew we were taking pictures and that Jessica was a Dr. Dolittle just waiting to adopt her. I tried to scare her off and apparently I am not scary because the darn cat wouldn't leave. Oh well, we had fun!!! :)

This shoot was one of my favorites so far! Jessica is a family friend so I know her pretty well. And one thing I know about her is she isn't the most comfortable in front of the camera. I can say that because I too do not love to have my picture taken. I love good pictures of me, but I don't love to be in front of the camera. But I digress... anyway... Jess pretty much rocked it! She brought along her guitar and mandolin, which was so much fun! Here's a quick sneak peak of her. Isn't she gorgeous? And don't you love that old truck? It just happened to be right there in the parking lot of her HS. Love it!

As with all my shoots, I can't wait to share more of these shots. We had a blast this afternoon tromping all around Belle Meade with three kids and a dog. Well, a blast with 2 child casualties. :) Abby skidded her forehead and Cole some how managed to roll his finger up in the window in the car. So sad! But all in all everyone was a sport. Even Mr. General, Jackie's Boston Terrier, did end up looking at me for some photos (can you blame the doggie for being distracted with three cute kids in tow?) Enjoy!

Bridal Sneak Peak

A little over a week ago I did my first bridal shoot. You know, just the bride, before the whole event. Stacy was so beautiful! Her and Jarrod's wedding is in almost exactly one week! I am so excited for them to start this journey together! What a fun time in life. Seattle

This last Thursday I flew into Seattle to spend time with my best friend but to also co-shoot a wedding! What a day. Not only was it our first wedding together, it was full of learning experiences. We worked 12 hours straight, walked up and down downtown Seattle, shot the ceremony lit by only candles, but most importantly we worked together seamlessly. I love my best friend Mandy and am so proud of her (and us!) for all of the things we accomplished. I know I am way behind on the blogging front and I promise to get back on track very soon, so here is a preview of the Seattle wedding with Adam and Dawn. They are an amazing couple and I feel SO privileged to have shared in their special and perfect day. Thank you Mandy for the invite to co-shoot this amazing wedding. Can't wait till the next wedding! Here's to many more!

These two were so much fun to do a shoot with. They were so goofy and having a great time with each other. And while sometimes that makes it difficult to get great pictures, it worked out well with these guys. Congrats to you Stacy and Jarrod!!

These guys just bought a new house!! Yay!! So they wanted a new mantle place picture, plus we got some for them to use for their Christmas cards! Way to get it all done Keena! I had a lot of fun with you guys. And your super cute doggies. I know it was stressful for you to try to get them to look at me, but I just love how these turned out. Again, it was hard to pick which pictures to preview here. :) Happy Tuesday!

Web Browsers etc

So, it has been brought to my attention that on some people's computers my pictures are being cut off on the right hand side. I am very glad you guys have brought this to my attention as on my computer it is fine. Anyway, I have talked with a few 'computer' people and apparently it is a certain web browser that doesn't go along the same guide lines as all the others. Bummer. So, I have decided to do a few experiments to see if making the pictures smaller would help. So let me know if it still cuts off the picture on the right..... your only way of telling on this particular picture is with my name at the bottom. It should say Christina Cole. :) Hopefully making the pictures a little smaller will allow for more picture to be viewed by more people. These are my boys. I bought them these shirts for the upcoming school year. And when I say school, I mean pre-k for Cole and mother's day out preschool for Jack. My baby is going to school this year. It will be great for me and my photography business, but sad for my heart. I love my kids! Who doesn't love their kids right?! Have a great night!
